Hi I would like to change my plan to the current boxing day promo for 5g 75gb can-us-mex since it includes Mexico but this option is not available for me to change to. Do I need to cancel and resubscribe to get this?

It looks like not everywhere has 5g coverage on freedom.

This is bad practice making downgrading a plan difficuit. Not sure why Canada government is allowing that. This is bad for consumers. I am going to the freedom mobile for the same plan.

Update: This plan is available for new and existing customers. However, if you have an existing plan already priced at $35/month or higher, you won’t be able to downgrade (thanks P!).
HOWEVER–there is a workaround if you’re willing to spend money or have credits. Downgrade instantly to the $30/20GB plan. Once that completes, upgrade to the $35/75GB plan instantly or at your next renewal date.

freedom mobile has the same plan. you probably can transfer over first. you can always come back if it doesnt work out.

Anyone opening a new Public Mobile account can choose from the plans made avaialble to new custoemrs. The steps mentioned by BKNS27 will work, but you can't transfer a phone number directly from one Public Mobile account to another Public Mobile account.

That will not work because you can’t port your number from one PM account to another. You have to port out to another provider and then back to PM.

Many have said that the workaround is to find a plan in your offers like the $30 one. Change to it immediately and then you can go ahead and change to the $35 “upon renewal”.
you will lose any unused data, minutes etc that you still have for this period, but it may be worth it in the long run.

Unfortunately, PM made it tough to downgrade from your current plan. You can only upgrade your plan.
Yes, to get this deal if you want to keep your number. You will need to port out to another carrier then port back…big hassle.
If you don’t care about your current number. Just disable Subscribe (AutoPay) button to stop future payments and after 90 days of nonpayment. Your account/service will be closed. Then purchase a new SIM and activate it and pick a new number.
