Can my PM number be ported to a new PM account? I ask this question because I would like to get the new 5GB PM bonus promotion that applies only to new accounts set up on $25 and up plans.

I think it will work well for my data needs which are not high but fluctuate month to month. For the $25 i will get  i think, 1 GB (with autopay bonus), plus unlimited canada texting and canada wide calling....and with the 5 GB bonus that should buffer or act as insurance for my data overage needs for probably the next six or ten months. We'll see.....i'm new at this game here but i can tell you the general deal(s) even without the bonus is way way better than my last prepaid phone (Rgrs). I was adding money to that account from time to time like a casino slot machine. Best of luck all.

@BarryereTotally freedom of choice.. people line up for bonus things like ice cream, pop etc for the same reason.

What's the point of signing up for this bonus deal if it is one-time only? That's silly.

@Anonymous  yes you are right, 250mb -500mb is minimal,  I should have used low instead.  🙂  but in my defence , i was thinking  anything under 1gb as minimal.

Yup. If you use a good bit of data then it could be attractive for few months. But if you don't then you're stuck paying the minimum $25 until you've used it all. Or waste it 🙂

@Anonymous  I agree and disagree.  for big data users the promo is really pointless.  for minimal data users like the $25 plan this give a good buffer for those times you might run out of data  early , and could last a long time.

Call that minimal? 🙂 I would say the 200mb add-on or the $15 250mb is minimal 🙂

I'll stand by my stuck paying the $25 until used up. Or waste it moving on.

I agree with you on big data users which is why I hedged on saying "good bit".

Re: FLASH SALE! Activate any $25+/mo plan and get a bonus 5 GB of data + get a SIM for $0

Anyways—-it’s been made clear that it’s an add on but does it roll over until it’s used up?

That's how add-ons work. I don't personally like the term rollover for this exact reason.

Thanks to all -  for now I’ll just stick with my plan and be done with this.

These offers are available to new customers only.

How to Get this Offer:

  • Bonus 5 GB of data: When you activate a Public Mobile SIM card online or in-store at a participating retailer on a $25+/mo Ready-Made plan from May 25 until May 26 2019, you will get a one-time bonus 5 GB of data."

The 5GB bonus is a one time thing; meaning that they'll give you an extra 5 GBs of data and once you burn through it, it's gone.  It's not renewed on a monthly basis; however, it can be carried until you consume it.

In order to do so, you'll have to port out & back in.

IMO: This is way too much work for this bonus offer.

If the 5 GB bonus was re-occuring on a monthly basis, it maybe worth considering.

The description is a bit vague- I think it’s possible that it’s reoccurring-  would like to get this clarified by a moderator if possible.

Well sure a lot of times around here wording can be a bit uncertain.

I don't quite see how it can be interpreted otherwise though.

From Alan_K's announcement:

can get a one-time bonus 5 GB of data. This will be applied as an Add-On

Keywords are one-time and add-on. one-time means once and add-ons don't renew each term.

@BEER

You can contact moderator via private message if you want clarification.  However, the general consensus is that it is only a one time 5 GB data add on.  It mentions one-time bonus.  No mention of re-curring monthly bonus.

Here are the terms:

Bonus 5 GB of data: When you activate a Public Mobile SIM card online or in-store at a participating retailer on a $25+/mo Ready-Made plan from May 25 until May 26 2019, you will get a one-time bonus 5 GB of data.

  • Eligible customers will be provided the one-time 5 GB data Add-On within 7 days.

@BEER ,

Don't port out your number out if you have available fund in your account because PM plans are prepaid plan which don't have refund.  But you can send a private message to moderator to move fund between account.

Please note that you cannot move refer-a-friend reward between accounts.  Your rewards will be gone after porting.

Sure. It'll cost ya though.

Run out and get a $0 SIM and activate a >=$25 plan and get the promo.

Buy a SIM from some other company, get a cheap plan porting your current number over to it. Then port it back into your new account.

There *are* complications along the way though. But it's doable.

ninja'd by everybody 🙂

No it's just a one-time add-on.

So the only option would be to get a new number and then advise the change to all my contacts, etc.  --- Before I seriously consider doing this want to make sure that this 5GB bonus is monthly re-occurring and not just an add on.

The 5GB bonus occurs only one-time.

@BEER  You would have to port your existing number out and then back in again.
