Can I change to $18/ mo. plan for temporary 2 months?

Hello,

My cellphone plan is just Talk & Text. Recently, I am going to travel and want to have Mobile Internet on my phone. Can I change to $18/ mo. plan for temporary 2 months, without changing my phone number or having to buy a new phone?

The above isn't correct.  There are many cases of plan downgrades being allowed.  Despite popular belief, there is no universal policy or system limitation that prevents all plan downgrades.

if you see that plan available to you in your account, then you can opt to have it...BUT...you may not be able to downsize to cheaper plan when you get back. Where are you planning to go and for how long. Public Mobile has talk/text/data add-ons available for use while in USA. Otherwise only roaming is available in US and Mexico.

All PM have data as low as 250MB on the old $15 plan.

Yes you can change your plan anytime but keep in mind that you probably won’t be able to go back to a lower plan. PM have made it more difficult to downgrade plans.

Also if you decide to change your plan to change on your Next Renewal Date. Since PM is a prepaid service, there are no prorate for unused days on your old plan.

Once you change plans, your number will be transferred over. Same if you get a new phone. Take the old SIM out and put it into the new phone to transfer your account over. Or download the PM app on the new phone then login to your account and purchase a new eSIM if your new phone is eSIM compatible.

Hello.

PM doesn't allow to downgrade plans. Also, PM doesn't work outside of Canada, the USA and Mexico. You'd need to purchase a SIM card or eSIM for where you're going.
