@alegator_23  That’s good question , because even thou there’s roaming in MEX there’s no add on for MEX like there is in the U.S. so in the case of you were in the U.S. you would need US roaming data add on I belive . So until public rolls out add in for Mexico I think you would be Outta luck . One might be then better off asking support to help them out with early renewal of the current plan they are on might be best way around that situation should it arise

50 GB Can/US/MEX plan, when 50 GB exhausted, i understood that the data will not be throttled and i will loose the data capability and will be required to purchase additional data (Data Addon).

What would be a proper data addon to add in case of 50GB exhausted, especially when abroad  ?

Would that be Canada Data Add-Ons - example 200mb for $5 ?

@alegator_23  Yes you will get 2FA and SMS will work while roaming in the U.S. and Mexico . And you can call to and from all 3 countries CAN/US /MEX using talk text and data no worries

Can someone in Mexico or US, confirm that the Banks SMSes (MFA) are working properly, and the SMS can be received on the phone while roaming in MEX or US on the new 50GB CAD/US/MEX plan ?

Thanks

Not sure, but I wouldn't bank on it. It's not needed anyway.

thanks @DennyCrane.  do you know if there is 2G there?

Mexico still has 3G coverage, so lack of VoLTE isn't an issue there.

do you know if Mexico still has 3G?

and are you using VoLTE or 3G voice? or even 2G?

Yes, in Los Cabos I can see LTE speeds with both TELCEL and AT&T

alegator_23

So to confirm the internet speed is fast enough in Mexico (you have mention LTE speeds) ?

Thanks

Sunman001

Correct. No roaming charges

@Sunman001 Do you mean to say there are no roaming "charges"? The Can/US/Mex plans are roaming plans, and when you use the service in those countries you are roaming.

Sunman001

it includes long distance no matter where you are Canada US or Mexico, from and to.

Sunman001
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

Yes, I am in Mexico and there is no roaming with that new 50gig plan

I am in Los Cabos, Mecixo and there is AT&T and TELCEL, both work LTE speeds. good reception.

What part of Mexico ?

How is the reception in Mexico ? What is the Roaming provider there?

How is the data usage, is mobile data working fast ?

+1 is the international country code for both Canada and USA and always has been.

Sunman001

i am in Mexico and I lost 4 days trying to figure out how to call OUT from Mexico into Canada..

REMEMBER to dial +1 then the canadian phone number with area code.. because just dialing the number does NOT work, nor does 001+ the number... you will save yourself a ton of grief.. just add +1 at the front.

Doesn’t Public select the provider automatically? I know when I used my AT&T in Canada, it would select the best signal.

Yes, of course, but manually choosing the network is a troubleshooting step.

Just make sure you’re not choosing to roam now with AT&T 😂

Awesome! Now I can get rid of the AT&T sim……people could only hear every third word anyway while I was in the States. 🤭🤣🤣

It’s incredible the number of people I tell about the new plan that say, “nah, I’m good”.

My pays $55 for 4 gbs. He said, “I don’t need the extra data”. I asked, “can you use the extra $240/year savings?”.

My brother pays $100!! And he said, “you get what you pay for”. 😳🙄

Correct with new the Can-USA-Mex plans

no roaming fees in Can USA and now MEX

this includes local and long distance calls between these countries and within the countries. So keep that dual slim slot ready for when you travel overseas and further south than Mexico.

Are you positive about using it while traveling in the US, Canada and Mexico with NO roaming? It reads that way to me but when you click on the details, the waters get muddy.
I have been using a dual sim phone for years. I use my Public for the people with phones that charge for texts to the US and have an AT&T sim that allows use in Canada, US and Mexico.

@DJSSB Ah yes, that's a different issue. There were some plans that included additional long distance minutes to other countries such as China and the UK (in addition to US/Mex). They saw the extra long distance minutes one one screen, but not on the screen where they went to change the plan on.

@DennyCrane OOh This LD includes to mobile or landline numbers?

I know many providers are restrictive for one or the other. Ie: charging more for Mobile numbers with Long Distance calls.

Thanks again.

Thank you @DennyCrane

Much appreciated,

I wasn’t sure because there was a post about not seeing LD minutes with these BF plans when activating so I was confused.
But that seems to be for a few other countries only.
Cheers.

@DJSSB It includes any combination of the above. You can call all 3 countries from any of the 3 countries.

I just ported to PM from Fido for the $35/50 Can-US-MEX plan

5G and 50GB should be good.

Couple of questions;

1. Does this plan also include long distance to both USA or Mexico from Canada?
2. Or only local calling when you travel/while roaming?

Thanks!
