Hello,
I saw a boxing week deal for a 50 GB CA/US/Mex plan w/ 500 monthly LD mins to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, and the UK for $35. I was able to switch and tell some others about it who switched successfully... however there is one person on a $39 CA/US plan and there is no $35 plan option when trying to change subscriptions. Why would that be and what's the fix?
Thank you

These things are understandable, for sure, which is why we sign up for PM at a better rate price than tier 1 Telus.
But that doesn’t take away from us being treated as tier 3 customers after being with them for years.

@dbi987 Yeah the plan downgrade thing is frustrating. As for wifi calling, this is a tier 3 provider 🤷 Freedom is great value, but the network is far inferior.
As for the "LTE workaround", that's not a Public Mobile issue that's a US shutting down their 3G network issue.

The fact that we need to do a work around to access a plan is ridiculous though. We already dont have wi-fi calling, roaming in the USA requires a workaround (LTE only), among others.
I can just as easily port to the Freedom Mobile Boxing Day deal and get even more features. Seriously considering it, tbh. It’s less about saving $5/month for the same plan and more about the hoops we have to go through to remain a customer.

True. I just checked on the website where it's publicly displayed and it does say new activations only. didn't realize that till now. Thanks. I guess those of us who got it were lucky.

it's not unusual carriers only let existing customers change to some plans and not those crazy new activation only deals. All carriers do that.

Thanks for the info. Guess I have to proceed with caution when trying to recommend PM plans to other people. LOL. Unfortunate.

Wow. Is all I can basically say to that. That doesn't benefit the customer at all...

Public Mobile doesn't make downgrading your plan very easy. You can only downgrade IF the plan you want is shown as available in your account.

Public mobile has switched to personalized plan offers for existing customers. Each existing customers will get different options to change to. The bad news is that it seems that most of the plans offered to existing customers cost more than their existing plan.
Each existing customers needs to check their own accounts to see which plans are available to them.

HI @The_Mobile_Cat Yes, PM is using targeted marketing and only showing selected plans for each customer. If you plan don't see the plan, then he cannot change to it
However, there was a a workaround to unlock the $35 plan if the $30 plan there on Change Subscription page on My Account
You can first pick $30 plan and do a Change Now plan change , which of course you need to pay now and the remaining days on your current cycle will be wasted. With this, you might be able to unlock the $35 roaming plan, and you can then schedule a plan change on the following renewal day
