Hi just wondering why bill went up this month to $28.75 from $23?

Ok thank you very much

@Sha-60   The problem with waiting is that the plan may no longer be on offer by the time you are ready.  If you select "change on renewal" you can do that any time and the new plan and payment doesn't start until your next scheduled renewal.  Just be careful not to select "change now" or it will be an immediate charge and payment with no refund for the rest of the current plan.

Can a person wait to change plan or should it be done right away?

@Sha-60 , it is very likely your plan was $25/1GB with unlimited talk and text.  This same plan is now $19.  I strongly suggest that you go into the subscription and add-on tab in your online account and switch to the reduced price version.  The savings will offset the lost rewards.

@Sha-60   You can make up for the switch from $ rewards to points by changing to the unadvertised $19 with 1GB at 4G speed, assuming you are on the older $25 plan.  So you get a higher speed for less money.  Just be aware that if you got the bonus data as "compensation" for the change in rewards system you will most likely lose it if you change to a lower value plan.

@Sha-60 , legacy customers were transitioned over to the points reward program.  So this is why your monthly bill went up.  Go into the rewards portal and you will see some nominal points awarded for the renewal.  You will not be getting anything for auto pay.  The loyalty reward has been replaced by an annual 10 point award at the anniversary date.  What plan are you currently on?  If it is an older plan ($25/1GB), you should be able to upgrade to the $19/1GB and recover some of the lost reward payment.

@Sha-60

you might have missed the announcement back in March about the rewards system change

PM retired the old reward system earlier (May 2024) and everyone migrated on the new Public Points system.
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/move-to-public-points

With this new system, you pay the full amount first (with the Available Funds on your My Account or via your credit/debit card on the system), and hence you see a higher charge now.
After renewal, PM will give you the points to your reward account within 48 hours.  Once you collected 15 points, you can redeem $15 bill payment yourself to bring the next payment down.  Or you can also use points to buy add-ons with a discounted price

But you have a $25-1GB plan?  If so, PM is offering existing subscribers a $19-1GB plan.  It is pretty much the same $25 -1GB plan, except it is better, it has 4G speed instead of 3G.   With it being just $19, you can recover the lost reward savings from the change of the reward system.  You might want to login to My Account and schedule a plan change to this $19 plan using Change on Renewal option

hi @Sha-60

you were wondering where the autopay/loyalty discount/friend rewards gone?   PM has ended that old system and moved everyone to the new Public Points!!

So, now you have to pay full price first and PM will give you back points after.  Instead of loyalty rewards monthly, you get 10 points per year on your anniversary date with Public Mobile.  Instead of $2 autopay discount, you get 5% of your plan in points.

And the points are useful to reduce the bill. After you got 15+ points, you will go to rewards site to redeem 15 points for $15 bill credit
