I am trying to convert to eSIM following instructions on the FAQ. I have never had the Public Mobile app installed so have done that, but cannot authenticate my account even though it logs in successfully in a browser. I am stuck on the eversafe.id.telus.com page after entering the 6-digit code which it receives successfully. 

 

My ultimate goal is to switch my phyiscal SIM to an eSIM. COuld you provide a solution to the app login, or an alternative to get the eSIM?

Got it! Thanks for the support all, a happy day for me! 

@thomaswil  Just the way it is now with new system update . All activations now require the app to finish activations . So it’s best to use the app from start to finish .but to buy new eSIM has be the app now for  existing customers

Where do we buy it in-app? I'm on version 1.3.0

Cool thanks. I am now logged in, but am findling absolutely nowhere in the app to purchase the eSIM. Instructions say: 

f you’re logged into the app

  1. Visit ‘Subscription & Add-ons’ page
  2. Scroll to the bottom
  3. Click ‘Shop SIM Card Now’ Button
  4. Select ‘eSIM’ and click ‘Pay and Install’

BUT I am not finding any item for 3., nothing related to shopping SIM Card Now anywhere...

Sorry, PM changed the rules 2 weeks ago. Now you can switch over to eSIM.

That would seem to contradict what is listed here on the FAQ. I would even consider buying a new plan if I can keep my same number, as a eSIM would be extremely helpful for me it's been a feature I've been waiting for for years from PM. https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/esim-faqs:

"Can I switch from a physical SIM to eSIM?

Yes, to transition from a physical SIM to an eSIM, please follow these steps:

If you don’t have the app

  1. Download and install the Public Mobile app on your device
  2. Open the app and begin the eSIM activation process
  3. Select ‘Pay & Install’ and complete the payment. Your eSIM will be installed and your current SIM card number will be automatically replaced with the new eSIM number
  4. You can remove your SIM card. It is no longer necessary to access Public Mobile services after the eSIM is activated

If you’re logged into the app

  1. Visit ‘Subscription & Add-ons’ page
  2. Scroll to the bottom
  3. Click ‘Shop SIM Card Now’ Button
  4. Select ‘eSIM’ and click ‘Pay and Install’

Note: Remember, once the eSIM is installed, it cannot be transferred to another device"

@BKNS27  Fairly new ,  with in the last month maybe .

Thanks, this must be a new thing. PM must have change it since a few members wanted to switch to eSIM.

@BKNS27  This has recently changed , existing customers can have eSIM just cost $5 bucks

try uninstall the. app first. Then clear cache of your default browser on the phone. Then reinstall the app and try

Sorry, if you are an existing member, you can’t switch from SIM to eSIM at his time.

@thomaswil  I’d just stick with physical sim . But to do so go to the PM app subscription add on page . At the bottom notice option for shop sim now . Tap it and then you can choose eSIM and install it
