Randomly I will get a notification that a text was not sent. This has happened every once in a while for a couple of months now and is only rectified when I restart the phone. I have never had this issue with any other providers and I know it's not the phone because I was using two different phones when this happened. Even though I can't send texts when this happens, I can still receive them. Anyone else having this issue?

so far it has only happened twice and the last time was over a month ago....I had the S21 at first and then changed to the S20 Ultra. they were not used at the same time.

@foreverkayla does it happen to both your Samsung devices? If a reboot cleared it up, it could be the app or memeiy issue
it is intermittent, but why not just use the new app for couple days or a week?
also, try to see if it happens more often at a particular location, that could hint that it is a local network issue instead

unfortunately, like I mentioned at the beginning, the issue is intermittent and since I rebooted my phone earlier today, it isn't currently happening. so trying another app will not tell me if there is an issue until it randomly happens again, and who knows when that will be, hence why I was trying to see if others were having the same issue

The text issue could happen. If it is a network issue, it could due to poor network connection, you can try if changing to 3G only helps
But it could also be device or app issue. I strongly suggest you to try clear your cache for the Message app or try using Google Message to see if you get the same issue

yes, I have done this, thanks. I was looking to see if it was happening to anyone else

We are trying to eliminate the possibilities which my cause your issue.

HI @foreverkayla I hope by "professionals" you don't mean the agents. Agent will only confirm if it is a system issue but won't be too much help for device issue
In fact, you got all the response from the professionals here already
And , what kind of device you have?

Update your message app may help.
I installed Google Messages app on my phone and I am not using the message app comes with my phone.
Are you using an iPhone?

No, I wasn't sending as a group message. I was trying to individually text two people, and both message attempts were not going through until I rebooted.

Send text message to more than 1 person is called group message. It uses MMS to send group message even your message does not have a picture. Enable data and send again.
There is no charge for data even your plan does not have data.

I'm at home, like usual. There's no reason why it should work sometimes, not others and I can still receive texts from the same location. It starts working again after I restart the phone, so it's obviously not a dead spot.

which general area of Canada are you in ?
Can we assume that happens when sending to several people or does it just happen to one person ?

Text message is piggyback on the voice line. PM uses 3G for voice calls.
How is the 3G signal strength on your phone?
Text message may not be sent right away if you at a 3G dead spot.
Your phone may have issue with the 3G signal.

You should send a message to a Customer Support Agent and have them look into your sim card and provisions.
Use the Chat Bot Simon to get a service ticket started and ask about your texting problem.

@foreverkayla are you on Android or iPhone?
if Android, you might want to start with clear cache for your messaging app
Also, try to use a different app for messaging. Google Message is a good one to try
