Can't send SMS / MMS texts or outgoing phoning to Android

I am a new user and transferred my phone number from another provider. I installed an eSim card with Public Mobile onto my iPhone SE (2020), but must have missed a step or two as I can't send texts or phone out to Android phones (SMS / MMS) using data. What do I need to change in settings? Cellular Data is on.

I think I figured it out. I still had the physical SIM card in my phone although I installed an eSIM. I've removed the physical card while the phone was off and turned it back on after a few minutes. It seems to be working fine now and I can call/send texts by SMS.

Likely an issue with iMessage setup.  You could try reboot of phone or network reset of phone (note: this will erase your saved wifi passwords).  

You could also turn off, then on iMessage. 

In your send & receive option, click on your cell phone number for start new conversations from:.
