I think that I possibly have an explanation as to the reason why some refer a friend submissions are not processed.
The o is often confused and in haste typed -- is it always numeric or alpha and also case sensitive? I always treat the o as numeric but also wonder, that since it may be confusing why do they not altogether stop using the o-0 in codes?

Way back in time....the referral code was easy......your 123-456-7890 number.
But PM improved it to the new format. Probably a privacy concern?
And once again way back in time, you could send your friend a URL that started up the activation process AND auto filled the referral code into the activation web page.
But PM improved the activation process and the URL doesn’t work and eventually they removed the URL from your account. 🥴

P03 --- PO3. Yes of course one can distinguish between 0O but in small font on one's phone it can be a bit confusing. Oh wait a second is 0 the numeric or this one O.

That is the way I always send my code out and have never heard back about it not working. I have a number 0 in my code. I was not too happy when I got this as my referral code, but at least the lower case does make less error for my referrals.

HI @Tsawwassen Last time my friend used it , it wasn't case sensitive

BC licence plate format....not sure how some conflict with numbers but perhaps PM should follow.
So numbers in BC will be a number and never a letter.
Very old news: Upon reaching 999-XXX, British Columbia will change to a new format using the AB1-23C sequence.
Letters I, O, Q, U, Y, Z are not used.

Good advise @JK8 but I think OP has trouble to figure out if it is an O or 0 , I or 1 himself 🙂

PM should not use o or 0, 1 or l..... in other words no ells, eyes, ohs or zeros.
Some provinces, for licence plates use one or the other but never both.
But for now....suggest to copy and paste.
And I wonder........will PM assign you a new one? PM sometimes doesn’t think things out to well. 🥴

@Tsawwassen it is online activation now, So, it is best to send the code to your friend via email or text. Just copy, paste the message. Have your friend to do the same so it won't be wrong
But codes are unique and so many combinations, not all are active code. Sometimes a typo would not work because that code might not be active at all

@Tsawwassen It can be either depends on your correct referral code. Make sure you know which you have and give the correct one.

Correct: 0-O, 1-l, Z-2
The best way to provide and apply referral code is to do plain copy/paste. In that case no mistakes are made.

HI @Tsawwassen Yes sometime it is hard to tell
I like to copy and paste to a notepad or Word program, then put a 0 O o and compare 🙂
