I have the 50G Canada - US plan. We were in Alaska and I couldn't make a phone call because it said it was an international call. I was in Haines,AK and was trying to phone a local RV park. How come it wouldn't allow me to?

Hi

i have the same plan as  you and i was in Alaska 3 weeks ago.  My phone worked seamlessly between canada and US. Ive noticed iphones work best and samsungs not so well but please make sure your data roaming is set to on and your network selection is set to automatic. Other than that, perhaps put in a help request. Hope this helps.

Yes roaming was on, used it as a hot spot for Netflix etc. Was connected to AT&T. It worked for everything but wouldn't let me make a local call. Just said international call and disconnected. Only tried to call in Haines,AK, Don't know if that matters or not

Was connected on AT&T, my phone is not 5g capable

@HDmech  You would need to connect to AT&T in Alaska and use 4G/LTE instead of 5G.  There is no T-Mobile there and 5G doesn't always work on AT&T.

@HDmech  sorry to hear that you weren't able to call while on the US.

Did you have roaming turned on? Did you data work at all?

Sometimes people are able to use data with the Canada-US plan,  but have hard time with calls.

Did you connect to T-Mobile or AT&T?

Also your phone must be VoLTE enabled that can work on PM list.

@HDmech

Just wondering if Roaming was enabled?

If it was then you will manually connect to AT&T or T-Mobile network.
