As soon as you respond back to the text from your old provider with a YES, that's basically it.  It might take a few hrs to fully complete the port, but once you send that YES, and aside from paying off whatever remaining balance you have to pay, that account is done and closed.

@frazman47 - If your old SIM card doesn't work anymore then yes, your account from your old provider is closed (Unless you have multiple lines, then the number that your ported to PM is closed.)

@frazman47  Once you successfully port your number to a new carrier it will automatically close your old carriers account . So no you don’t need to call  them.
