If you are in Canada, you need to purchase Add-on for the country you are trying to call or text.
If you are in the USA now, you need to purchase a US Roaming Add-on then connect to T-Mobile network while you are down in the USA.

if you are talking about Long Distance add-on you can only use it to call these counties from Canada
Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Venezuela.

or you are talking about Long distance to other country form Canada?
if about Long distance from Canada, which country you were trying to call?

T-mobile is US roaming partner
if you are talking about US roaming, you will need to try to connect to it
But if not about US roaming, you can ignore it

Not data add on. Just talk and text. I made one long distance call but haven't been able to make any since

@Lynn50 Is this a US roaming add on , if so reboot the phone still and make sure your connected to T mobile

Login My Account again using Incognito/Private/Secret mode to make sure the data addon or other addon you looking for is really on your My Account (they are not used up)
try reboot the phone
check if you have data limit set on your phone
