Activate with only add-ons (no plans)?

I have a tablet that has sim card slot. I don't need a full plan for it, I just want to add some data on it while in Canada and do the US roaming add-on when I visit the US. Can I buy a sim card and only add add-ons? Or do I have to sign up for a plan to use the add-ons?

PM does not offer data plan only.

You would have to buy any PM plan (cheapest is $15) and then you can buy any add-on you need.

@canislupus   No, you cannot just have PM with Add-on, you have to get at least the lowest plan $15, then you can add the add-on

two good things

1. PM is prepaid and you can suspended after the initial month and reactivate when you need--EXCEPT you have to reactivate once every 90 days.  So, you can join when you need for that month, suspend it the next month, just make sure you reactivate within 90 days or your account will be closed and your SIM will not be valid any more.

2. Add-ons has no expiry, so, after you got the add-on, you cannot finish using it, it will roll over to next month.  You can still suspended the next month and when you reactivate back, the add-on will still be there

My suggestion for your US data, roaming is not cheap, you will be better to just buy US local prepaid data.  Cheaper and you will get more data for the same price.
