@Sanshin, to add to what's been shared already, when you request to have your number transferred into Public Mobile you will need to leave the old SIM card (from Virgin in your case) in your phone as you should be receiving a text message from them confirming you want to transfer the number out. You will have 90 minutes to respond Yes. After that you can remove the old SIM card and install your new Public Mobile SIM card or eSIM depending on if your phone is eSIM compatible. The whole process typically takes an hour or 2 but the key thing is that your account with Virgin needs to be active.

you need to have a virgin active account to be able to port virgin number to public mobile, if you don’t own the virgin number and don’t have an active account, you will not be able to activate the virgin number on public mobile

Hello @Sanshin
If you are looking to port your phone number to Public Mobile from Virgin, first sign up with Public, get a temporary number, then you'll have the option to port over your number. Just know, your Virgin account has to be active for the port to work.
