I cant figure out how to activate my account. I activated Sim card and checked compatibility on the website get started section. Also set up new APN in settings...I cant send or receive texts or calls and only have wifi right now. What do I do?

I cannot even get to settings...just stuck on WiFi network request. Calls go to vm. Cannot receive texts. Owner only used as phone. Chose new number til porting over from fido in next couple of days. Sorry both in the dark about IPhones.

@Dave1981

If you put your Telus Sim card back to your phone, does it still work?  What happens when you call your phone number from another phone?

Other things to try:

1. Toggle airplane mode on, wait a few minutes, toggle back off

2.  Network reset your phone

Ported same number from Telus

As you wait for moderator help, some further questions might help:

Which plan are you on?

Which model phone?

Did you activate new number or port number from another company?

@Dave1981 start by restarting your phone! If that doesn't work we'll look at your apn settings

Emailed the moderator and they activated my account. It was working well for a day and now I can't send any MMS on text. Can send on all other platforms ie fb, ig, though which is strange...

@Dave1981Swap your SIM card to another phone to verify whether it is a problem with your phone or your SIM card. Public Mobile is cheap because diagnostics have to be done via DIY.

@Dave1981  message the moderator_team, sounds like the account wasn't provisioned properly. They'll fix it

@Dave1981  can you try the lost /stolen trick that @cellphoneuser1 posted earlier?  Sometimes that reprovisions the account and it starts working! After doing that restart the phone again.  If that doesn't work it sounds like you'll have to message the moderator_team and ask for help! Click here to send a them a message, it may take upwards of 48 hours to hear back from the moderators.

Have restarted phone several times. Taken sim card out then put back in and turned phone back on. Same results. Only wifi

Account says active.

@Dave1981 If nothing works, try lost/stolen trick. Report phone aa lost and report phone as found. That can reset account on occasion.

@Dave1981  start by restarting your phone. If that doesn't work log in to your account and check if it says it's active! Then we'll go from there

APN is wrong thing to look at. APN is only for data. Does your data work?  If someone calls you, what happens?

@Dave1981 so the activation went ok and it charged your credit card and you got an email from public saying it's all set up?   Did you try to port your old number or just picked a new one?  Does it say public mobile in the top of the phone screen?
