90 Day Subscriptions?

Chris_

Hi there,

So I've noticed something over the years about getting a discount if you use a 90 Day Subscription.

- How do I set that up?

- Is that an option available with any plan, or only select plans?

- How may rewards be affected, or will they still be the same as if on a monthly?

Thank you

Oh trust me, up to the point I switched to PM, Koodo earned their Loyalty from me, with my wallet 😉

I called in regularly to negotiate. If I recall, yes I even had a better plan with them than what PM was offering, PLUS I had the phone credits available. I hadn;t paid a dime for my last few phones, not even a Tab... I could've walked away anytime I wanted, BUT no carrier could match what I was getting, so... but than all that changed in 2020

@Chris_  Yes I was with Koodo long time to had great customer service for sure . I was even in contract with them before in my younger years . But I’ve since learned it’s best to buy phone out right and be a free agent and go with who ever will offer you the very best plan for your needs , as loyalty no longer matters to corporations so it should matter to you either vote with your wallet and enjoy the middle of the road

That's actually the reason I was pushed over the edge as a Koodo customer, into coming to PM. It was only getting worse, as with all carriers, but then during the Black Friday sale for maybe a week? Koodo shut down customer service with real human beings, and I thought, OK that's it I'll switch to PM now. I loved Koodo, was best experience I ever had with a carrier, until all of a sudden during 2020 all the reasons I liked them went downhill.

@Chris_  Yes Black Friday and Boxing Day sales are a hectic gong show for most carriers i belive

Thank you. Definitely a "handy" tidbit for me to keep in mind going forward with plans. And yeah, I've been contemplating waiting till Black Friday, but I don't want to regret it if they don't do anything as good. It's also a gong show around that time on here usually, isn't it? Lol

@Chris_  I personally like the 4G plan 65GB 90 day . But at same time with Black Friday around the corner there could be even better plans available . I also see no need to ever spend more then $34 a month on any plan . I feel like when you pay $40 plus a month it should be unlimited everything with roaming . So yes decisions decisions also remember it’s harder to now downgrade plan price so best to stick to cheaper plans if you go to high in monthly plan spend you will often find yourself trapped in that plan with no ability to downgrade plan spend . Food for thought

K thanks for clarifying.... now I have a decision to make... do I care about having a 5G plan, or do I hop on that 4G plan to gain another 15Gb? Hmmm 🤔

@Chris_  No not every plan only some and it will say so in the plan description, but currently none show on the website just in our accounts as targeted offers .

You mean, if I were just starting out, activating a new account, a new customer, that I would see the 90-day option for ANY of the plans?

@Chris_  Yes and yes , there are so other plans that were added for 90 days plans but you need to be in the $13 plan or $15 plan to see them

OK thank you. Is that 90-day only available on that 1 plan right now? That's the 4G plan, right?

OK, I get it... You're lucky "if" you even ever see it as an option... 😉

@Chris_  In your account change subscription  you need to select the 65GB $45 plan and once you selectd it you should have option for 30 days $45 or 90 day $34 but for 90 day you need to lay $102 upfront and you will get 195GB to use river the 90 days to average $34 /month

That's some of what I'm asking. Is the 90 Day option something anyone can do on any plan?

The option is only available IF offered at the time of signing up for that plan. It can't be changed to a 90 day plan after the fact.

EDIT. If it's a current plan you're on, no ability to change. HOWEVER, if it's a NEW subscription, when you go to check out the two options will be there.

Well @Chris_  it really depends. Sometimes it's not "shown" up front there is a discounted price if you get 90 days as some have reported and have just stumbled upon it. Sometimes they are offered only to new customers. But I will say this. If you have the $34 Can US plan with 50GB, stay on it. It's a wicked deal.
