My wife and I both have pixel 4a 5G's and both recently upgraded to a 5G 40 GB plan, that both took effect in the past 3 weeks.
We've both enabled 5G as the "preferred" network in our phone settings, but we still seem to only get "LTE+" connection, everywhere, even when we're close to a Telus tower in an area showing as 5G on Telus' coverage map.
Are we missing something?

HI @nalorin
yes, it is the speed matters and you are getting it.
on the bright side, 5G tends to use more power, so , you use less power but same good speed on 4G network

To those who asked: as I mentioned, the phones are both Pixel 4a 5G phones. And I enabled 5G as the preferred network, but still only got 4G speeds. It was NOT an issue of having only a Pixel 4a 4G.
As the accepted solution shows, Telus supports the Pixel 4a 5G. But Koodo does not (and I can only assume that Public Mobile uses the same network settings as koodo, not Telus). So sadly, I just get a 4G plan. But that's fine, because I still get unlimited data and 40GB at full speed.

Yeah, that seems to be the issue: 5G service on the Pixel 4a 5G is supported for Telus but not for Koodo (and I guess, presumably, not for Public Mobile, either).
*Sigh* oh well... I guess I'll just have to be happy with 4G for a while longer...
To answer others' suggestion of trying speed tests: I was finally close enough to a 5G tower today to be certain that distance was not an issue, and I got 60-70 Mbps down and ~3 Mbps up. 😞 Sad day.

@nalorin Google's website says not all Pixel 4a 5G's get 5G with all 5G networks, although they do work otherwise. If you look here, it lists certain models that work with Telus, but doesn't list any 4a as working with Koodo. PM is not listed.

If your phone is the Google Pixel 4a 5G. I would suggest you conduct a speed test to confirm if it is higher than 100 Mps.
Is this your phone:

hi @nalorin
for some phonre, LTE+ could mean 5G. Can you run a speed test and tell us how fast it is?
