5-10 Second Delay While Answering Calls

Hello, I've contacted support a few times over the past couple of months about this issue but it doesn't seem to resolve after following the steps, I've been pretty busy so following up hasn't been a priority unfortunately but the issue is persistent and getting irritating again!

My issue I am currently experiencing is from most callers - when I receive a phone call, I answer it but it takes anywhere from 5-10 seconds for them to hear me and me to hear them.  It works perfectly fine outside of that but the delay when I answer the phone is irritating - I just want to know if there is a way to fix this? I've tried power cycling my phone, airplane mode toggled on and off, and resetting the network settings but the issue still seems to persist. When I spoke to support they advised;
- Try a new eSIM (did not solve the issue)
- I was advised to turn off a feature called "Clear Calling" which did not help or resolve the issue
- I was advised to turn off WiFi calling, I have tried on and off and issue still occurs.

I have a Google Pixel 9 XL Pro (software is up to date), I switched over to Public Mobile in January or February, and did not have this issue with my previous provider, so I can't see it being the phone. One aspect I have identified is that when I receive calls from other Public Mobile customers, it does not happen, only seems to be with other providers (which it can be any provider including Telus).

I am currently stuck on this issue and would like to get it resolve one way or another, please let me know if you have any insight because it's driving me nuts now.

Yes, I received a reply there and was advised tech support would be reaching me by phone within 2-3 business days but I never received the call. I just sent a message again now.

@ericjonezy  Just tested, no it stays on 5G

So VoLTE is enabled then.  Hopefully support will be able to do something for you this time.

I searched - I couldn't see anything for VoLTE.  No Power Saving is disabled because it affects some of the apps I use so I always have that toggled off as well.

@BKNS27  there should be a setting for VoLTE

Do you see a setting for VoLTE on your phone?  I don't have one on my iPhone and that seems to be the case for a lot of people (including the OP).  It's just enabled on the approved phones without a setting for it.

@ericjonezy

PM doesn’t offer wifi calling so it won’t work. Since you have the latest Google phone. There should be a setting for VoLTE. Do you have Power Saving mode enabled. You will need to disable that feature.

@ericjonezy   There isn't necessarily a VoLTE toggle with Public Mobile, on approved phones it is enabled by default but I just wondered if you saw one and it was toggled off.  When you make a phone call (with wifi turned off) does the 5G or LTE in the status bar change at all?

Yeah, I mean the WiFi calling feature didn't seem to actually work but it let me toggle it on, produced a Telus error page and then it was on, I would just turn it back off (I have it turned off all the time anyways it was just what a support rep advised me to do).  I do not see any VoLTE settings no.

Public Mobile does not have wifi calling, but if you have a setting for that do you also have one for VoLTE?

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

@ericjonezy

It sounds like you’ve tried all the troubleshooting.

Next step is to contact a CS_Agent to reset the provisional issue with your SIM.
