Hello,
I just wanted to make sure there no problem with me signing up for a 5G plan but my current phone is only 4G compatible.

They say that it’s all about speed However it’s speeds that are almost impossible to reach with phones. I think that to be true because my IPhone 12 could never surpass 20 mbps upload on either a 5g or 4g plan. Why not just choose a suitable less expensive 4G plan that offers acceptable speeds up to 100 mbps that would also be near impossible to reach under most circumstances.

Yes, it's really a "5G speed" plan, not a 5G only plan. All plans have access to the same 3G, LTE and 5G networks, just at different speeds.

no problem. The plan is just about speed. 5G plan just mean it can be as fast as 250Mpbs. You can use your 4G phone with a 5G plan and use the 4G network and get a good speed like a 5G phone
