404 Error but SIM activation no longer working - 404 Error after credit card information

I went through registration twice (first 404 part way through)... the second time, I went through the SIM card entry, porting number, credit card... then it displayed a 404 error.

I could not log in with the account information I provided... so I attempted a 3rd time, but it will NOT take my SIM card number now to start the activation process.

I popped in the SIM into my phone and it says I received rewards (via text message)... I can make a call, but trying to call my phone number goes to old voicemail. I realize the port might take a few hours... however, my account login is not working...

I tried the 'forgot password', it can't find my email address...

I tried to 'create an account', it asked for my phone number and email address, it provided an SMS message with a 6 digit code, but I'm worried it will create another account, without the credits and linkage to my credit card, etc...

Can someone help me?

Your mention that after activation in the store, you have to go home to setup a self serve account... I decided to give that a try (creating a new account - required my telephone number (my in-progress porting over number), which results in a text message with a special code... to complete the registration of a new account... it seems to active... just waiting for my number to port over still. Last number I ported took just 30 minutes.

Just to confirm, the way you worded your reply... "when you activated your new account"... do you mean, during the activation process of my SIM,Port,Creditcard? It should automatically create my username (email) and password that I specified... allowing me to 'self serve'? I am 99.9% (maybe I'm wrong) sure this is what happened a few days before when I did the same for a different SIM/PhonePort/account... but just want to verify that is what is expected. I don't have to create a self serve account after I went through the activation process.

@lilk

You are correct.  During activaiton of SIM/port/plan at home/online, you would have also created your username(email ) and password (which you specified).  That is what normally happens, but I have heard from some other customers who had to create a self service account afterwards because for some reason, their account was not set up automatically.

If you activate in store, usually you have to set up a new self service account when you get home.

I have submitted this but there is no option about activating and self serve account not working... just submitted it as a payment error... which I guess it technically was since it 404'd on the credit card page submission... I tried to cram in more details when it asked for the error code. Gosh I hope they respond faster than 48 hours... not saving me money if my phone is down for the night... loosing money if it's not working by the morning.

There is an Other category for ticket and it allows you to say something short.

That is the problem... it doesn't allow me to login... 'forgot password' indicates my email address is not found... it's like it got partially completed through the process... frankly, I think it's activating and porting my number (good), but I don't think the account creation worked (or is working). I ported another phone without issue (other than the delay for the number to finally route calls)... but eventually it worked.

If self serve creation doesn't work, you will need a moderator. Click on the auomatic chat icon question mark and tell it you want to submit a ticket for help.

Going to old voicemail is normal it just means porting isn't done yet. Wait a few hours and it should finish.

Yes, you should do the create account thing with the code. That gives you access to your account. It doesn't open a new activation.

@lilk  when you activated your new account you should have made a user name which is your email and a password
