@kav2001cwrote:

Pretty much

You lose $80 + tax from Public but get $100 credit at Koodo

@motuwrote:

My plan just renewed.... does that mean I am going to have to eat 80 bucks worth of prepayments if I move over?

And the LD addon, so another 15+ and auto renew credit and loyalty credit and referral credits...

I just received one as well.  If it's legit, I am calling bull**bleep** on this.  As I recall, when I signed up for the promo, the deal was that the $40 rate would be valid for as long as you kept the plan.

In other words, is Public Mobile going back on it's word?

lastly, if I had wanted to sign with Koodo, I would have.  I do not like being forced to switch, in order to keep a rate that was promised to be valid for as long as I kept the plan with Public Mobile.

my question is that we just get the SMS for price increase, I did not find it in website. I think that we make sure that is not a joke.

If only 1 person getting it may be a joke, but everyone on that plan?

I would  switch to koodo unfortunately  I don't  have credit and this koodo option is post paid . This sucks!

@achao $100 credit at Koodo for each account that you switch.

For $5 extra per month you could stay with PM and keep 12GB just at 3g speed

This is just awesome, NOT! This is sad

If I remember correctly reading somewhere that they will never increase prices on your existing plans. All this effort promoting PM to friends and family, loyalty rewards, refer-a-friend, just to be asked to switch to Koodo.

That's very upsetting.

I got this as well. I am not happy with this at all. I am sure I would lose all my rewards if I switched to Koodo. Those are why I have talked this company up!

This is definitely a surprise...It's like they are the scumbag boy/girlfriend that breakup using text msg. WTH

I paid for 3 montns I have a $ balance the public mobila has to pay back.

The public mobile did the same like thre years ago when they moved to TelusMan LOL

@kevin_camerawrote:

I need some clarity here -- is this a TARGETTED increase or happening to all users?

Targeted to ONLY fall 2016 promo customers; $120/90 days for prov calling, texting, 12 GB LTE data.

I got the same message and was wondering the same thing.

Any one else in the same boat?

@peosteve

We're pissed because they are potentially targetting those who have lots of referral credits and not doing it for everyone across the board.

FWIW, I got the text and I only have $3 /mo credit for auto-pay and 1 year loyalty
ETA: on the fall'16 promo plan of 120/12/90

Please someone with a massive following on twitter call them out for this bull s4it.

To be honest, Telus proably doesn't care if everyone is flocking away from PM...because Koodo is still pretty much them. We played right into Telus' plan as this $40/4GB promo likely increased their # of subscribers overall under the Telus brand. So unfortunately, moving to Koodo won't actually make PM hurt...it will actually generate cost savings for Telus overall as now they don't have to worry about paying out continuous referral and loyalty credits.

Well played.

Me too. I just renewed 2 days ago (for 90 days) and the offer to switch to koodo is only good until March 15th. i would loose $80 as well. why is this offer not tied to your next payment date? how hard would that have been?

Very confused about the text message I recieved allegedly from Public Mobile saying the cost of my plan is going up and that I could get a better deal at Koodo. What's up with this? Valid or not valid?

I would like to see an official announcement in the forums detailing the criteria for those included in this increase.

You can increase pricing, but you can't selectively increase it for different accounts.

I surely hope there is an official announcement. My question would be: Will all plans on Public Mobile increase on March 20?

What if I just switch to a new plan for 3GB + 3GB (which is half data but still enough for me) for $120? Will that work?

I'm a little shell shocked just now though

Same here... I can't think straight. Need to sleep on it.

The proper response is to leave the Telus family altogether!

I don't know about you, but I would definitely call this a surprise.Screen Shot 2018-02-15 at 14.41.30.png

@ute1978 it is a big screw job since they send you the TXT for rewards, then TXT for renew, THEN TXT for INCREASE

They knew most people would not renew at higher price points

Just got the text as well and am on the $120/12GB promo deal as well. Makes it a difficult decision as I was paying around $27/30 days with loyalty and referral credits. This makes the Koodo deal largely revenue a neutral change, but I'm concerned about a further increase. My wife also has a pioneer plan which just got raised a second time. That line will probably be changed to a $25 province talk and text plan, but I will probably need to port her out to Koodo, and perhaps myself as well. Problem is she frequently tops out her data allowance and a postpaid account will result in her racking up large additional charges.

I also have a grandfathered $90/1GB plan that has not received the text (yet).
