@ISIYGRN1 You can download an app such as TextNow to make call to US and Canada for FREE. But you need internet connection when you call any number in North America. 

From time to time, PM is giving out free Long Distance minutes. Watch out for that!

Long distance add-on:  allows calling to a place outside of your local area; does not include roaming

(as everyone has already said, can only be used in Canada)

Roaming:  usage while connected to another company's network.  

Public Mobile doesn't have a network in the United States, so any usage there is while you're roaming. Roaming add-ons that include phone calls also already include the long distance needed to call the other places in the U.S. or to call back to Canada.  (roaming add-ons can only be used in the U.S.)

The $15.00 add on of 1000 U.S. Long Distance Minutes will get you 1000 outgoing long-distance minutes to the US, originating from within Canada.

With ONLY the following exception:  Calls made to numbers starting with the following six digit combinations are not included in US calling from Canada and will not be completed when dialled: 712-432, 605-562, 641-552, 605-475, 605-477, 712-775, 559-726.

Hi @ISIYGRN1 yes that add-on is for call to the U.S. while you are in Canada.

The Add-on for calling while you are in the U.S is called U.S. Roaming and they come in 10-day packages.

It's for calling to the US whilst in Canada...for calling from the US you need a roaming add-on which is limited for 10 days.  The 1000 mins US add-on however, does not expire, unused mins roll over every cycle until completely depleted.
