Hey Community,

Today you get to be the CEO of Holiday Creation. Think of anything worthy of celebrating, pick a day on the calendar, and boom, you’ve done it! Here are some holidays we made up to help get your creative juices flowing:

1. Catch Up On Your Shows Day

Still haven’t caught up on the latest season of that show you’re obsessed with? We think a national holiday is in order. On the last Wednesday of August, everyone should get the day off from work to do nothing but sit on the couch and satisfy their cravings by soaking up those final few episodes.

2. White Elephant Delivery Day

It’s like a White Elephant, but for take-out food! Get a group of friends or family together and pull names from a hat. On December 21st, order delivery to that person’s house from a restaurant of your choosing. It would be so much fun opening a box to reveal your mystery dinner!

3. Cringe at Your Old Posts Day

On this day we should look back at our social media posts from ten years ago and say, “Why in the world did I ever put that online?” Sharing old posts is highly encouraged so we can all bask in the cringe-worthy tweets and statuses of old.

Those are just a few of our ideas, but we’d love to hear what you can come up with! Comment below by 12:00 PM ET on April 2, 2019 and tell us what you think Canada’s next new holiday should be and we’ll randomly 3 winners who will receive a one time $50 Public Mobile account credit. Who knows, maybe your holiday will catch on and be Canada’s next big thing! Contest runs March 26 to April 2, 2019. Read Contest Rules before entering.

Digital appreciation day

On December 31, the last day of every year.  It should be a day where everyone has an appreciation for the digital technologies that are in their lives.

Also, all business in the digital fields should provide an appreciation for all the customers that they have due to digital technology.

On this day it should be a custom, that all these digital businesses should provide customers with gifts or credits even if they're very small like $5 credit.

I propose a neighborhood day in which you invite a neighbor over for a visit coffee tea dinner or organize some sort of neighborhood barbecue or progressive dinner where you eat a different portion of a meal at a number of different neighbors houses so as to build community and get to know the people who live around you

The next national holiday should be February 20, National Muffin Day.

Fresh muffins of any sort are worth celebrating, and having a day to celebrate would be awsome.

National Love Day

Show as many people as you come across some love.  Hug them, greet them, thank them, buy them a coffee, whatever you can come up with.  What this world needs is more love for one another!

Explore your neighborhood day

Have a section of road near businesses shut down to traffic to encourage people and famlies to walk, run, cycle to local business like cafes, shops, restaurants, and bars.  Let people discover local eatries that they might not know.  Bring kids out to walk & play on their locals streets, playground, or take them out for ice cream.

I would create a Timewise Holiday, a holiday where you people would make the effort to reconnect with the elderly; where both parties can share their stories, reminisce, appreciate the present, or explore the possibilities of what the future might bring.

How about a 'Discovery Day' where everyone has to try something new for themself; whether its food, sport, travel, religion or endless other ideas.....Hmmmm D-Day???

We already have New Years Day Jan, 1....... so six months later once all those resolutions have failed......on Jun 1st.

I would like a TILTING AT WINDMILLS HOLLIDAY to be granted on an individual basis to anyone affected by a computer bug that is still extant 12 months after it has been reported by them. Examples: our federal government Phoenix pay system; Public Mobile's Texting fails in Canada after US roaming text add-on expires.
