Hi Community,
Below you’ll find our Community Terms of Service as well as some guidelines to follow when using the Community. Please read them and familiarize yourself before starting or continuing to use the Community. Following these guidelines will ensure that the Community continues to be a welcoming, collaborative, and helpful place for all of our members.
Community Guidelines
The following are general guidelines to follow when posting in the Community. These were inspired and based upon conversations the Public Mobile team has conducted with active Community members.
Be respectful and welcoming
The Community is a place for Public Mobile customers to come together and help one another out. We want everyone to have a positive experience, so please be kind to one another. Please refrain from posting anything inflammatory, lewd, harmful, insulting, or otherwise inappropriate. Remember: posts in the Community are from fellow customers who are trying to help. Please handle all interactions with respect and empathy.
Be specific
When asking questions in the Community make sure to provide as many details as you can (aside from personal identifying information). What is your issue? When did it start? Have you tried any fixes yet? What device are you using? Additionally, when answering questions be as detailed as you can and try not to repeat information that’s already been said. If you don’t know the full answer, that’s okay! Try to help as much as you can and invite others to build on it.
Be Collaborative
Everyone in the Community brings something unique to the table. Let’s focus on working together to create a positive experience for everyone. Work together to build on each other's knowledge and experience. If you disagree with someone or want to provide a correction, please do so courteously and kindly. If you’re asking questions, a great way to help build the Community up is to mark the most helpful reply to your question as the accepted solution. If you see a reply that is especially helpful and well-written, give it a ‘bravo’.
Categorize your post accordingly
Whether you have a question about your PM service, the Community itself, or your device, the Community is a great place to learn more. Try to place your question in the most relevant board so it can be easily found by others who have a similar question. Add tags to your post too to be a true Community superstar. Try to keep support-related threads on topic. Want to have an off-topic discussion about something else? The Lounge is the best spot for that.
Keep it spam-free
The Community works best when information is easy to find. Please don’t clutter threads with posts advertising third-party services or products or send private messages with advertisements. Please also refrain from sharing your referral code with others in the Community in the public forums or via private message. Additionally, if a question has already been answered, then it may not be necessary to respond as well.
Be careful
Be mindful of what you share online. Please do not include any personal information when posting in the Community, especially phone numbers, email addresses, passwords, and payment information. Additionally, always use your discretion when following advice on the Community.
Terms of Service
The following activities are not tolerated in the Public Mobile Community. Any instances of these activities will be handled by a member of our Customer Support Agent team and may result in the removal of content, written warnings, and/or temporary or permanent bans from the Community.

You are unable to call Algeria with Public mobile long distance add ons. You will need to find another way to call. Ie. purchasing calling card, Or you can use VOIPP app like Textnow.
You also should see the bonus data add on on your overview account page. Under the Data and add on section.

Here is some information about PM port protection:
https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/port-fraud-protection
No way to "lock" your SIM card with PM.
You also need to be careful about SIM jacking. Where someone switches SIM card number in your account and uses your phone number to gain access to online accounts like PayPal . Need to have a strong passwords to PM account/email. Don't reuse passwords, etc.

@Anonymous
They don't show you a "preview" or "thumbnail" anymore because of the web-tracking you already mentioned. The image/content is often stored on a server controlled by the message sender, so fetching that stuff to display it on your device already informs them that somebody's received their message. Who, what, when, where is all logged in the unique link they sent you and the unique network path it travelled to their server.
The practical privacy-protecting (yet not privacy-invading) defense for the carrier is to just pass along the link. Or to contain it within a "click here to see the the thing" option.
The practical privacy-protecting defense for the end-user is run a messaging app which doesn't volunteer any information, acknowledgement, or response upstream until the user specifically allows it.

@Korth : it's why I don't download and show images in emails. They're tracked. I'm subscribed to a vendor somewhere. They send me emails somewhat frequently. They sent me one asking "We've been sending emails, but haven't seen you open any of them!". Ah ha. I replied yes please. But that tells me all I needed.
But pm's are a little different. And some time ago they used to show the whole thing in the email notification. Now they just show who from and the link to it.

I am not interested in such advertising.
Hi @guyco mark those links as spam and/or block them. As already suggested above, don't click on unknown links. They could be virus and then there goes your phone.

The moment you answer, click, or respond in any way that indicates it's an active account with somebody home ... you've signed up for a lifetime subscription to more spam from more spammers. Even the link to "unsubscribe" is a trap.
Just block, mute, and ignore. Go out of your way to send no response or recognition whatsoever. Don't worry about being rude, it's actually the rudeness of the spammers which forces your behaviour.
You can configure your messaging app to not mark items as read, to not issue any sort of receipt to the sender. So merely looking at the message won't already tip them off.
Built-in messaging apps seem to conspicuously lack this functionality, though there's still plenty of options available if you look for them.

They just signed up today and you're getting ads from them?
Report them.
And for heavens sake, don't follow links. Especially if you're not interested in it.
You can use the Ignore button in the private messaging system.

"The cure just takes awhile to take force......."
And interim due to a excessively restrictive robotic spam filter , appropriately nicknamed *poof* magic dragon, hundreds of PM users likely have exercised personal option, and ceased to continue to "join the conversation" !
Which is a loss since a lot of them would have preferred to continue to share their information found on the web', experiences with PM, and work' arounds they have used.
IMHO

Editing your unmoderated items still will not allow you to post them thats why i recommend the screenshot. However I now believe the spam filter learns from each individuals posts and once a minimum amount of posts have been made it learns that youre ok....may sound strange but disappearing post bug occurs with newer or infrequent users. I have not changed my style of post and probably edit more than ever but have not lost a post since Tiana gave me the feedback on pm's study of the issue. It does still occur as evidenced by @dougc and a couple other new members recently. The cure just takes awhile to take force.......

I've seen (not seen) some of my posts disappear because - I suspect - they get flagged away after edits, too many, too quick. I'm reasonably confident it's not censorship because I can still find some of my posts which offered unflattering criticisms about PM.
I have received auto-warnings about using naughty words, lol. But they didn't takedown existing posts.
PM probably also tinkers with their forum and filter setups so unstylish "spam" parameters of the time could have changed. And could always change again. Each time taking down posts which have long been considered unoffensive.
Did you edit your "missing" posts?

And it's aged well (although the leather squeak admittedly isn't quite as exciting as it used to be).
What's not to like?
