TextNow Changes

@Chalupa_Batman

some recent changes to TextNow as of July 31. Not sure how it's going to effect out of country...

clipped from their website..

What's changing

After July 30, TextNow Wireless cellular coverage will no longer be available outside of the United States, impacting those currently using a TextNow SIM in Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. This is a network infrastructure decision, not a change to your account or your relationship with TextNow.

A while back their SIM supported roaming in Canada. Friend was using it as his sole service for Florida and Ontario; he is chagrined. 😿

Really nothing has really changed because you can only use the TextNow SIM in the USA when connected to the T-Mobile network. The SIM doesn’t work in Canada unless you are in a border town or city.

You can only use TextNow when connected wifi in Canada.

thanks @hairbag1

I know they have stopped  people from register outside of US. for some time, people can register in Canada and us, and use their service overseas. But I will try if a registered account can still use their app service outside of US and Canada

Hey @hairbag1 . From what I understand it affects their wireless cellular (SIM card), not via WiFi.
