Hey community I see freedom just announced there first ever national plan that includes calling and usage in the US $50 for $40 GB this is very tempting ,,,, I know there coverage was never the best but with the merger with robbers … what’s the cons here , what I’m I missing

@hTideGnow Agreed

HI @Handy1 surprise PM suddenly so aggressive, put so much effort on $$ plans. But hope they take care of the $15 and $25 plans too, with more reasonable amount of data for year 2023!!!

@hTideGnow And @XionBunny so it seems PM has fallen inline with freedom with the 25GB for $65 plan with 25GB bonus data =50GB for $65 sign it up for 90 days and it is $55 a month for that 50GB services on 5G services which freedom doesn’t yet offer , and freedoms plan is $5 cheaper for only 40GB but still has the Benefit of US mins and data …. Good keeping pace PM

i had bad experience with freedom, i cancelled my plan last year and rep did not cancel my plan instead they were saying it is paused or something and i still had to pay 2+ months more without notification, while clearly i mentioned to cancel / stop / delete my number. Their rep had thick accent and pretty sketchy in my opinion

@Handy1 give retentions a call, just be firm, and get any deal you land that you like in writing, that way your covered and can get the agreement without hassle.

@XionBunny Typically yes I think so too , but I’m not sure as I’ve had several win back plans already I don’t know if there’s a limit to it or what … but I have decent line right now with Telus well several a few are only $30 with 20GB and one is $65 with 100GB and it’s a US roaming plan too like the freedom one … or I’m I just best to call Telus and say look what freedom has I want this too what can we do
05-27-2023 06:22 PM
@Handy1 you likely would, in my own experience Telus is very aggressive about retention, one of the times I left here they called me non stop via koodo to offer a win back.

@XionBunny im tempted to move a few lines over to see if ultimately I can get a better win back deal with my lines on telus

@Handy1 That's just a standard warning practice to avoid abuse of their plans, it's entirely up to their discretion and they may not even enforce it unless you are on the extreme side of off network use. All providers have those types of terms

@XionBunny @hTideGnow I was digging a bit and it appear that plan of after a few months cycles if you use 25% each month outside there freedoms towers they can just cancel the plan on you so not so great in the end

Videotron acquired them, not Rogers, the only involvement with Rogers they have is new roaming agreements as part of the sale arrangement, so coverage will still be spotty but improvements will happen to their network, they are after all beginning to expand and roll out 5G on their network, Just so everyone knows and is aware, I've seen some confusion over that.

hi @Handy1 but honest, PM never follow Freedom plans closely. So, unless other tier 3 follow
05-27-2023 02:41 PM
@hTideGnow Yes they should , but will they ya think
05-27-2023 02:22 PM
hi @Handy1 what is missing is PM should follow!!!
