Automatic Invoice Generation

I just switched to Publc Mobile and I was in disbelief when I saw that in order to have an invoice generated for you (for business or tax purposes for example), you need to e-mail PM or message a PM mod to get one. I was told there can be a 30 day delay to get an invoice. Surely that can't be more financially sensible than just having a system that automatically generates invoices when you consider the labour spent by these mods and PM customer service agents generating invoices.

I agree. Automatic invoice generation should be very easy.

Should be easy but the backend costs to setup such automation might be expensive.  You're getting cheap for a reason.

There are file storage considerations that will have infrastructure cost. But I do agree, having to contact a mod to get your invoices in a self service environment feels very counter intuitive.

You do realize that this is a prepaid service right? I've never heard of any prepaid service that included invoices unless someone can correct me here.

@hummuschips  I know from prior experience with dealing with prepaid customers there is away for Telus/Rogers/Bell to generate a one of usage list.  Not really a invoice but there is a way.  or was but I havent had to call in for someone to get one done in about 3 years

@chinaweike having been involved in writing code for generating monthly statements in a past job, I would say that @jlm1991 absolutely nailed it and it is not at all a simple thing to implement correctly.

I am in disbeleif that you expected them to spend extra money on something you can do online. This is a no frills company. If you want paper invoices printed and mailed to you go back to Robbers.

I AM talking about online, not paper invoices. I  I just want a PDF invoice that generates everytime you renew your plan. You CANNOT get PDF invoices even.

 And admittedly I don't know how much it costs to invest in PDF generation, but rarely is there technology that is too costly compared to the long-term labour savings unless it's cutting edge, which I don't think invoice creation is.

In requesting an invoice from PM, wouldn't you really just need a statement from 2016?

I'm self-employed and plan on doing that, instead of asking for one each month. That way, they don't need the automation, and I only need to request once a year... because really, unless you have a business, you really don't care if you get an invoice or not.

If automation was made available down the road, sure I'd use it, but it's not imperative... I don't think anyway.
