Hi,

Would it be good if PM offer something special like these:

90-day plan with 1000min + 1000Mb for about $79;

30-day plan with 300min + 300Mb for about $29;

and 30 days moneyback guaranteed?

I believe PM is target customer has elastic demand to price.  Maybe some attractive plans can help them becoming part of the PM community.  Other than words of mouth, price is probably a key factor for new customer to join a service without brick and mortar.  After they try out the great service form PM, they will build loyalty and stick with PM~

I'm not a person who makes a lot of voice calls, and I really don't use the texting all that much either.  Would I do without those services, I could probably get away without them, however I can't.  Family prefer to call me on my phone to chat, and if work needs to contact me they certainly prefer to voice call me.

If I was truly concerned about getting my costs down, I'd scrap the voice and texting services that I'm paying for, and switch to data only, on the $90 day plan.  I would forgo the texting altogether as I use FB messenger most often, and I'd install my VoIP.ms number on my cell.

I see unlimited minutes as most favourable on cell phones, because you don't have to worry about your cap.  Having a cap of 300 minutes for 30 days, that's not a lot, but then again, I've never had to worry about a cap on my minutes.

I think that some of these have merits, BUT I also believe that PM needs to keep certain aspects simple to degree

On the other hand... for someone who doesn't use a lot of data, another option could be to forget about adding the data, and then instead using the data add-on for $30. This might be more expensive in the long run, but at least the data doesn't expire unless you use it up. I like the 1GB of data, as you never know when you might need it. Last month I used 597MB, so doing the add-on would cost me more in the long run.

Another way to save money is to only do province-wide calling. I rarely travel out of Ontario and with my family in BC, I text them first asking them to call me.

I agree with @makkahn28 about the simplicity factor. I like that you can easily build your plan, and there are less options. Too much choice can cause stress. Read The Paradox of Choice: Why More Is Less by Barry Schwartz and you'll understand what I'm saying. Thanks to @pm1 for offerring their feedback!  Isn't that was PM says... Let's keep the conversation going?!

I think the Province-Wide rules are too confusing - can I make a call? can I not? Can someone call me? Just make it CdaWide 1000 or 1500min for same price of $120/90days with same data package. If you want unlimited CdaWide pay the extra $5/month just like would have to now.

That would make the long distance package only required for calls to made to out of country - a concept that is easy to grasp.

But, I can appreciate some of the complexities of having to track minutes used what happens to a user who runs out of minutes before renewal. All of the current plans are unlimited or nothing. Simple.

I think one of the things that differentiates Public Mobile is that they don't do metered calling or texting in their plans.  If you get either or both of those services, the bucket is unlimited.

In terms of data, PM used to have a 90-day 1GB plan until a few months ago, and have stated unequivocally that this option is not returning any time soon.

Well what's the confusion, other than they are 10, 30, and 90?

you pick how much voice for the length of plan, yes or no on the txt option, and pick your total data for the entire length of plan.

There should be no confusion.  I have a vision impairment, and I was able to read the fine print, and terms of service with perfect understanding.
