Hello ladies & gentleman, which retailers in BC sells a basic phone ($60-80) to use on public mobile?

For this price of $60-80 CAD you are going to need to search your local used market to get the best deals. Make sure to check the IMEI# on devicecheck.ca website before purchasing. This will let you know if the device has been blacklisted. Make sure the phone is also unlocked, or Telus/Koodo Branded.
There are many older smartphone models that will suit your needs and be under $100. Something around 3-5 years old.
Good luck, and be careful.

IF you dont know what you are looking for, it may be best to ask family/friends. chances are, there is a backup phone collecting dust that someone is more than happy to get rid of. its a win/win situation.
basic phones can be purchased from 7/11 or some petro canada gas stations
smart phones in that price point are limited to used market. new smartphones retailing at this price point is not worth the hassle.

I only buy second hand phones. I guess I have been lucky to not get ripped off. Maybe try eBay or amazon.

If you're okay with online order, both newegg.ca and bhphoto.com have an assortment of phones, some of which will work with Public Mobile.

@mllcrk98 did you end up finding anything yet? That price point is pretty tough to work with for a new device. You could look at something like the BLU Advance 5.2, which is $92 on Amazon.ca: https://www.amazon.ca/BLU-Advance-5-2-Unlocked-Smartphone/dp/B076MM5LM7. But this is a VERY basic unit, and it's going to be painfully slow with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage (hopefully you don't like apps or taking photos or anything), and it doesn't even have LTE so you'll be stuck with 3G. But it's compatible and might meet your needs, if they truly are very basic.

@Jess516Quite a few people have been scammed buying second hand phone through there. People don't pay their bill and the provider blacklists the IMEI, so the person sells the phone but it can't be registered to another provider until the original bill is paid, which it never is.

Kijiji is sketchy... better off going to local stores

Buy a used one off the internet. Maybe Kijiji, Amazon or even eBay. You may find a better deal this way. Make sure it is unlocked.

You could search Staples & the source. Also make sure it is unlocked. You are probably limited to a flip phone style.
