@johnpublic   you will be using T-Mobile for roaming in US.  With data and text, you can use it's LTE network, which should be ok.  With voice, you will be using it's 2G network.

According to the coverage map, T-Mobile has full LTE and 2G coverage in Myrtle beach

https://www.gsma.com/coverage/#466

But honest, 2G is an older network, so, the voice part might not work that good, Data and text should be ok

Worst case, if it does not work well, you can open ticket with PM support and share the experience, they will usually compensate based on how bad it is

And download VoIP app TextNow for free calls to Canada/US using the app. Just in case data work but voice not, you can use TextNow to call and receive calls

Hi John...

I used the USA add-on when travelling to Washington, DC in October.

I had absolutely no issues. Talk, Text, Data add-on all worked perfect. I used all three add-ons while travelling.

No issues on my return to Canada. Everything worked completely seamless.

USA data add-on should be fine, but talk add-on almost won't work. So I think you'd better to buy a local sim card or using something likes TextNow that use data or WIFI to make a call.
