I would like to transfer to another provider but it is not working as I am unable to receive texts in the country that I am currently in.

It will be expensive for any Canadian mobile company to international roam for six months.  It will be cheaper to get a domestic SIM card and use while traveling.  

If you don't care about your Canadian number, just unsubscribed from preauthorized payments and let your phone number expire.  After 90 days suspension, your account will be closed forever.

If you want to keep your Canadian number, then there a few things that you can do.

The hassle of getting a foreign SIM card is that you won't be able to receive 2FA texts from Canadian companies like banks, etc.

okay, thank you.

It is more difficult to port to another provider once you are outside Canada. 

You will need to contact customer service agent to see if that is possible.  You may need to wait until you come back to Canada.

HI @Chels99 

is your PM account still active?  It must be active for the number to port out

and you can receive text from others and just not the one from PM?  Ask your new carrier to resend the port

if still not receiving it, CS agent can check.  please submit a ticket with CS Agent here:

PM messages will only be recieved in Canada or US with correct add-on.
