not recieving text messages or calls , can make a call and send text , not sure what is going on , we are new to public mobile

@506georgie I hope time or perhaps porting help has already fixed your issue. However, you said you did not know what was happening. I'm assuming here that you did bring your number over from another carrier and you ported your number on activation.
Your old provider still holds your number. PM sets up your account with a kind of duplicate number which will only allow you use data and to text/call out with your PM sim as your incoming texts/calls are still coming into your old provider.
Three things to bare in mind:
a. Your old sim card should still work in your phone until your number port completes.
b. When your port completes, your old providers sim will stop working, and your PM sim should be fully functional.
c. You may find that there may be a short period of time, where calls will not ring on either provider's sim; instead they go straight to your old provider's voicemail. This should figure itself out within 30 minutes.
Just switch sims and reboot your phone, if necessary.

Have you ported a number recently from another carrier? This is normal. You can call out right away, but you have to wait anywhere from a few minutes to 4 hours for your incoming calls and texts to come in.
If you don't receive a text or call within 4 hrs,
