It's recommended to ask the RCMP before you take any action on the SIM plan and what your freedom are and can you effect any investigation's there doing. I think the criminals are smart and throwing away the SIM rather then using and you could just get another one with cost of $10 or half the price online and have to contact public mobile to shut the first sim.

From my understanding, you can't track the lost phone by imei number. Android and Apple may have options to track your phone if you have the appropriate apps.
It may take some time to get the phone IME blacklisted.

@moezaw Use the lost stolen phone option in your self service/my account . To immediately deactivate your phone. Contact a moderator and ask them to place your phone on the blacklist. Use this private message link https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437
Get a replacement SIM card. Once you have both it and the phone use the change SIM option in your self service account to switch the new SIM to your phone number. Take your phone off lost/ stolen. Place the sim in the new phone. You should be good to go.
Also, check to see what your lost phone may have exposed. Change e-mail password etc. Bank accounts etc.
