When I switch to public domain do I keep the phone number I have now?

You have to Request number transfer from old provider to PM.

Mind you: BOTH accounts have to be active in order to transfer number. If you close old account, your number is gone.

Hello @Hank54

If I understood correctly, you are thinking of porting over your phone number and signing up with Public Mobile and you want to be able to keep your current number? If so, you can check this link to see if it can be ported.

Check Eligibility to Move (koodomobile.com)

Koodo is within the same company and all three Telus Koodo and Public Mobile uses this tool.

If it says you can port it, then when you sign up, there will be a stage during sign up on the app you can enter the porting number. If the link I posted says you can't port the number, then sadly, you will either have to get a new number or find a subscriber that will allow the port.

@Hank54

you can if you want. During the activation process, you'll be given opportunity to port your number from old provider. Don't cancel old one just yet.

This depends on whether you have request the phone number to be ported to Public Mobile. In most cases, yes, this is possible.
