i came back to public and tried to transfer my number, but since it was out of service it wouldnt let me. i then tried changing my number but it hasnt worked. how long does it normally take to take affect?

Try Reset Network Settings on the phone and it usually will update to the correct number

if not, go into Settings, remove the phone number and reboot phone. Then go back to settings and enter the correct phone number

If it's an iPhone, you have to manually switch it. I'm not too much of an Android fella. I think the important thing is, what number shows to the people you're calling?

Hello @Lilmatt671 

To change your number, you need to have an active account.  USUALLY the number change should take effect right away because the number itself is within the Public Mobile data base so there is not "porting time" to wait. Just to note, you can only change your number once every week.

If you have having issues changing numbers, you can reach a CS Agent by creating a ticket.
