Log into your Self-Serve and confirm the plan is active.  Confirm that the plan has mobile Data (or that a Data Add-On is active).  Confirm that your SIM card is active.

Confirm the phone is unlocked and compatible with Telus 3G/4G (the same network used by Koodo and Public Mobile).  Specifically: it must support 700/850/1700/1900/2100/2600MHz (Bands 12/13/17/29,5,4,2,7) - although only 850/2100MHz are strictly required (but 4G/LTE/LTEA speeds will be diminished with only partial band compatibility).

A Telus-locked phone should work with Koodo/PM, but it may still be necessary to have Telus remove the carrier lock if it doesn't.

Configure the Network Operator on your phone to Public Mobile (for voice/text/etc).

(Apps > Settings > More > Mobile/Cellular Networks > Network Carriers > "Auto Select" or "Public Mobile")

Your phone may initially report a connection to "Telus" instead of "Public Mobile" - but it will still work properly, this issue will self-correct after a short time, and it's nothing to be concerned about.

Configure the APN settings on your phone to those required for Public Mobile (for mobile data and for sms/mss attachments).

(Apps > Settings > More > Access Point Names)

https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Knowledge-Base/Setting-up-Data-APN-on-your-phone/ta-p...

You may need to also configure your voicemail in some regions, but it usually does this automagically.  And it's something you can worry about later if it doesn't work.

Restart the phone for all changes to take effect.  (Not strictly necessary, but recommended since it guarantees no incidental problems.)

You may need to wait a few hours (even a day) for service to become active, it's inconvenient but it's just the way it is.

If it still doesn't work after one day (at most) then you'll need to message the mods to resolve your service issues.

I use a phone to call, not interested in all the bells and whistles and I personally find people who spend 1000 on a phone absolutely insane. My problem is fixed now, i restarted it several times and now i have 3g reception, (which is fine by me) thank you all for your help in this matter

Can you explain what you mean by internet access but no mobile access?  Is this internet access wifi?  You can get wifi without a SIM card.  I suspect that there may have been some sort of activation problem here.  Are you able to confirm in your account that the activation was successful and the account status is active.

Edit:  If this is the phone in question, then it is 3G compatible but there is no 4G on this phone.  I hope this didn't cost much to buy.  Personally, I would not use if even if given to me for free.  The old phones I have collecting dust in the shoe box are all more capable than this.

Just to be very clear here when you say you have "internet access" are you saying wifi or actual mobile data? Does your phone say something like "LTE" or "4G" at the top?

Looking at it on the Walmart site it's listed as a "TELUS Prepaid" phone so it should work.

It might be a good idea to contact the mods clicking here and providing your email address, phone number and saying you are unable to make calls just to make sure everything is ok on their end.

The first thing I would do is make sure I had activated that SIM card in Self-Serve (what @wetcoaster wrote). Did you do that?

Have you activated your Public Mobile SIM card in your self serve account?

After a quick search I can't find band specs for your sub-model - can you please post what bands your phone supports? Where did you get it from?

Keep in mind that the Telus network on which Public Mobile is running does not support any 2G GSM frequencies. Here is a good post re minimum band requirements: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Discussions/LTE-network-fundamentals/m-p/198799/highl...
