I just joined PM on a 5G plan. For potential potential battery saving and lower energy frequency waves (health), I would prefer to switch my preferred network type to 4G/LTE, however that option is greyed out (not available) for me. Is there any way to change it? Ok my previous phone plans I had options to choose from.
Thanks in advance.

Hi eddieO, I'm using a Pixel 7a and it turns out I just needed to restart my phone again and I have the options to choose my preferred network now (5G, LTE, or 3G). Thanks for the encouragement that spurred me to try restarting.

hi @Fallies
yes, you can. And it is true 4G would save battery. And even you are on a 4G network, you can still get the promised speed with your 5G plan on the 4G network, ie, you will get 200-250 Mbps on the 4G network. So, you didn't lose anything by using the 4G LTE network

@Fallies which phone and model do you have? Most phones do allow changing the network band between 3G, 4G or LTE and 5G, are you seeing any of these options?
