my email entered by your customer by mistake

So I'm sitting here in the USA, minding my own business, and I've started getting messages from publicmobile in Canada. This looks like a case where some new customer entered my email by mistake. Of course, I unsubscribed, but it keeps happening. And there is precendent-- for awhile it was someone in Australia who entered my email when they signed up at an exercise salon. It was relatively easy to email the salon and get things straightened out, but here, publicmobile is nearly hermetic against calls or emails to an actual person. It's not like I can sign in to "my" support account to get this fixed, so I had to unsubscribe yet again, then register here with my email address just to post this message. The advantage is that if the errant customer tries to enter my email address as theirs again, now it's ALREADY TAKEN/

If I was getting spamed like that I would change my email address.

If you don't want it and "unsubscribe" fails then auto-spam. If it still bothers you then ask nicely at the source. Then, if needed, escalate with a privacy complaint.

 

Of course if someone uses your email then you can always get a password reset sent to your email then login to their account (and read their profile info, remove or change the email address, etc) ... just sayin.

 

I suspect that if you (or at least your email address) is being targeted again and again then it's either somebody you know or it's floating around where too many opportunists can see it. Maybe time to demote it to spam trap and start a new one.

@olaney you can only tell Public Mobile but after that, just block the e-mail address from sending your more.  Public Mobile doesn't send e-mail very often.  The customer will eventually fix it when he realizes he can't get in Public Mobile account.

Oh i know how you feel, i actually gave up one of my emails because of things like this, i got so many receipts for buying furniture, or joining fitness center, quotes for various projects, i kept contacting businesses back but at some point i gave up. Then i was backup email for over 10 google accounts. Crazy

Try sending as message to one of the moderators, just go to messages and in "send to" type in moderator.
