I lost my old sim card and when I activated the new one, I had to choose a new number
My old number was 778-xxx-xxxx and the new number is 236-xxx-xxxx

did you already activate a new account?
You do not activate the new sim card, surpassingly you simply login to your Self-serve My Account for your old number and then you request Change SIM card. Then enter the new sim card number and pick email to receive the security code

Even you have activated a new number for your new sim card, if you want to keep your old number, it is not too late. But you might need to buy another sim card to complete this process (But you will loss money for the new activation)
