There are other posts on these forums over the last few days about problems receiving calls if you have LTE enabled... Forcing the phone to 3G/HSPA/WCDMA mode seems to have helped for those folks. Maybe your issue is related, and trying that as well may help?

Otherwise, since Public Mobile does not support VoLTE, the phone has to switch networks

whenever you make or receive a call, and if the switch can't happen fast enough or there's some other issue the caller might flow through to your voicemail.

Hi there,

Thanks for all of the help. Most of the calls are coming through from the US now.

I have one that says they can't get through either with or without the 1.

This is a great plan!

With an active Public Mobile account, you are be able to receive calls from anywhere in the world...for free. Perhaps the person in US has restrictions on their end, that won't complete a call to Canada from US.

If you want to call them, you can get the Public Mobile $15 US Calling add-on that will provide you with 1000 minutes of calling to US from you while you are in Canada..

Those 1000 minutes will stay on your active account until you use them up....even if that takes several month or longer.

While you're in Canada, you can receive calls from callers who have phone numbers from anywhere.  There isn't any account setting to block these calls, but there is third party software that could block calls from certain phone numbers from coming in.  There's also a setting on some phones to send any calls not saved in your contact list directly to voicemail.

Hi @Adele3

What plan are you on?   I'm presuming you're able to receive calls from Canadian numbers?

Can you test that the problem is not on the SENDER'S side by having them call someone else in your household, or a friend, in your area?

There should be nothing preventing you from receiving incoming calls, unless the number accidentally got added to your BLOCKED list.

The caller calls you with the 1 infront of your number.  They are charged the fees if their plan doesn't include long distance calls to Canada. You need to be in Canada.

If you want to call them. You need to buy an add-on to call USA from Canada.

$15 for 1000 USA calling minutes that rollover untill all used up. Calls have ton originate in Canada. 2 steps to buy an add-on  1 - add money to your account. 2- buy the add-on.

You could also look into the app called TextNow. You get a Canadian number in your area and you can call / text Canada and USA numbers for FREE anywhere in the world..It works with your data or WiFi.
