iOS 16 voicemail badge problem

jfidelak

Since upgrading an iPhone SE from iOS 15 to 16 and migrating an ancient flip phone to an iPhone SE iOS 16, both iPhones have been missing Voicemail badge indicators in the Phone app. Get the "new voicemail" notification, but the persistent red circle badge on the voicemail icon in the phone app never appears.

Public Mobile bug or Apple iOS bug?

Secondary (trolling /s) issues?... what happened to listings by forum category, and sub category posts by date? Search is total garbage? Even Google search "site:productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca" is useless. Ooof...

I have done all that as well ! It all started with the infamous red dot ( with no number, just a red dot ) next to the Phone icon . I had deleted a message and when i rebooted the message and went back to voicemall , it  was still there even after I had previously deleted it . This happened 2-3 times . I have been trying to solve this problem for 2 days now

See if you have some voicemails to deal with and delete them.

Reboot phone.

By any chance have you deleted a “recent” that also left a voicemail...that can create a bit of a mess.

@jfidelak   are you not getting notification or getting a red dot with no number?  There has been a Red dot issue going on since last couple updates

iOS 16.2 is the latest update. I am surprised the settings have changed.
Maybe you can contact Apple Support on their app or go to an Apple Genius store near you.

Settings -> Phone -> Notifications -> Badges is ON. This was working fine in iOS15. Didn't change any settings during iPhone SE(2) iOS15 to iPhone SE(3) iOS16 migration.

Both SIMs 204 Manitoba if that matters.

Thanks for replies.

Since switching to Public my voicemail notifications have almost never worked properly. Only once or twice did I ever receive a voicemail notification. Pretty much never have the phone app badged with voicemail. Have to remember to go into phone app and check to see if there is a voicemail indicator. And even then, it doesn't always appear either, have to call in and check.

I think it's your iPhone's issue. I have iPhone 8 Plus and iOS is 16, I don't have problem as you have.

Go Settings>Notifications>Phone then enable Badges.

@jfidelak

You will need to turn on Notifications in the Settings.

Go to Settings>Phone>Notifications then enable Badges. Also if you want, you can enable Banner Style and Sound if you wish.
