I recently switched to Public Mobile. Even when myself and another person both have iPhones and are connected to wifi, I can not send or receive iMessages from certain people, but for others I can.

Go into "apps">"messages">"send & receive" then tap on the phone number you wish imessage to work for...should get a blue check mark beside it and then it will be working

@andrewzkrowitz Are you out of data ? iMessage needs data or you can turn it off and send sms instead . But try this turn off iMessage and face time and power phone of for few mins then reboot the phone and turn iMessage and face time back on and see if that helps

go to iMessage, remove your phone number there, reboot and go back and enter your number there and try
