Are you sure the number within the country is the same for you? E.g., when I lived in Germany my number was 0157 xxxxxxxx. To text it from Canada you'd have to do 011 49 157 xxxxxxxx. I know that the 0 has to be dropped. That's the only thing that comes to mind that hasn't been already said.

i did not use the + and country code ... i got through using 011 instead of +
example: germany country code 49 ...so instead of +49 i would use 01149.....

Have you attempted to reply to that received SMS? If you can reply to the message, you should be able to send without the already received message.
