If I have used all the minutes in a Canada wide plan, is there a way to but more without changing the plan?

Best to reconsider changing plans if you're running out of minutes. You can try using apps like WhatsApp will save you from using talk min. I like Google Duo over Whatsapp because call and video quality is much better.  This is if you're on wifi of course.

You buy the 500 minutes Canada wide talk.  I put one in my account so that if I ever go over my minutes they then draw from the 500 minute add-on.  It's a great buy.

Yes.  You just buy an add-on for $5.00.  You get 500 minutes.  The best news is they roll over if you don't use them all up.
