@Brilliance for activation for your "friends"?
Be careful, for now, eSIM be transfer to another phone. So, people will still need to go back physical if they got new phone, or they reset the phone to factory default.

eSIM has it goods and bads
Good:
- no buying physcial sim needed (yes, you can buy online but it still take a day minimum for delivery, or 30 mins to drive around and get one in persion)
- Best for situation like local sim card. You can arrange your US roaming eSIM while you are in Canada
- you can install multiple eSIM profiles and switch on the fly (not really, it needs a reboot)
- For phone manufacturers, less removable parts, means better dustfree/waterfree protection, and freed up space
- Environmental friendly , no more plastic 🙂
Bad
- switching phone. Many providers still charge you a $5 fees if you ever need to move your eSIM to another phone (or you wiped your phone and need to reinstall). To provider, it is consider as buying new eSIM
(iPhone has a free solution now, but it still depends if provider supports it) - Testing/troublshoot is now harder as you cannot "move" a eSIm from one phone to another

Just throwing this out there . I’ve never had esim anything before . Call me old fashioned but I think I prefer the physical sim anyways . I mean what’s the advantage of esim anyhow

thanks for reporting this @hTideGnow
Good thing is that... even if eSIM fail, there is no argument people not getting $5 refund, there have been multiple reports saying support unable to refund the $5 esim cost in cases of failed esim activation

Thanks for the information. I don't believe that customers are going to be overly excited about not paying for something that many would have considered to be an activation fee.
