I just signed up, and ported my number from Koodoo. The porting seemed to work, as in my Koodoo subscription was cancelled and that sim no longer works, but the eSIM activation failed for public. I am now left without any usable phone. I have tried resetting my iPhone 11 Pro multiple times, but only ever get "SOS Only" for the network. I have also removed the physical SIM so it is only the eSIM left now.

Correct, i have not gotten that email. But it does seem to be working now.

Update, OK I just got it to work by turning off "Automatic" network selection on the sim, and selecting Public Mobile. Seems to be working now!

Nope, this iPhone was purchased directly from Apple, so its unlocked. I have not deleted the eSIM

Did you, at any point, delete the eSim while trying to fix things?
Also... have to ask. Is your iPhone carrier locked?

Thanks, I did that. Pretty frustrating first experience. Everything online says I should have also gotten a QR code in my email for the esim, but I did not.

@AndrewButt Sounds like you need to contact customer service, use this link to send a private message and then monitor your community inbox for a reply (envelope icon top right or click on your avatar and select Messages if no envelope icon)
