I would like to know why my account was deactivated today when you still had my debit card number?
I have now put in new credit card number. Hope there will be no more deactivations.

@lenore1_telus-n - if there is no expiry or card issue with your debit card, then this sounds like an autopay failure (as @softech mentioned). If you want your debit (visa, I presume) being used then I would go ahead and put it back on your account.
If the issue persists next renewal, submit a ticket with customer support....fyi, people who post here on the forum are customers like you and cannot see your account as we are not public mobile representatives.

did you login to My Account and click Reactivate my plan and make a payment ot resume service?
Yes, Pre-authorized payment sometimes fails, it could be a card issue but more likely a PM issue. Since PM is prepaid provider, if payment didn't go through, it will suspend the account immediately (unlike Postpaid provider which let you continue using it but charge you interest)
Let us know if you resumed the service. If you did already, it's good and let's hope it won't have the same problem next month
