i just bought a new sim minutes the iphone said my public mobile is not supported on this iphone

@skoshwho371 @You could try a active SIM card from another provider in your iPhone to determine if it truly needs to be unlocked , otherwise if does need to be unlocked you have to get the carrier you got the phone from originally to unlock it for you

Did you call the previous carrier that would have locked the phone? Public does not lock phones. If it's an older phone and you got it from Telus or Koodo then support can help you (or Apple?).
