I went to Esso gas station, and bought $20 PB payment voucher, +TAX , total: 20+2.6=$22.6.

Then , I add only $20 to my account. $20 ONLY

if on $15 plan, PB CHARGEs $15*1.13=$16.95

I feel like I  I am being charged 2 times.

Am I right?

If you join the LD Extras program at London Drugs you can earn "visits" by purchasing a $10 pm voucher every time you walk by a London Drugs. Every 10 "visits" earns you a $5 "coupon" redeemable towards another pm voucher. In essence this will save you an additional 5% making pm vouchers bought at London Drugs in Alberta "tax free". Along with other benefits the LDX program also gives you a $5 coupon on your birthday.

 @chch518 : Or get an AB# 🙂

@chch518

Yes, because of the cheaper tax rate 🙂

So load up, while in Alberta!

if it is the case, I should buy more vouchers in Alberta when I am travelling in Alberta.

Is it right?

To the extent, I should buy any more useful related-vouchers, etc.  in Alberta  for my future use.

It is completely reasonable for you to believe this is what is happening, but rest assured it is not.

Because tax rates vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, public mobile only displays the Available Funds balance as the pre-tax amount to represent the posted price of their services and add-ons, which are always net before taxes.

So whether one purchases a voucher where the provincial/territorial tax rate is 5% or 15%, when you add that voucher to your account it's only the face value (net before tax) that gets displayed in the available funds.

HI @chch518

Voucher already got charged tax when you first bought it.

When you load it to My Account, there will be the $20 credit

When PM sees the credit, when it try to reload your account , it will take $15 off only and and you see left with $5 on your Available Fund on My Account.

Is that what you are seeing now?  if not, send use a screenshot for the Available Fund as well as the transaction history

@chch518

You pay tax when you bought the voucher but PM won't charge taxes again when you load the money ($20) to your account.

$20 (voucher) - $15 (plan cost) = $5 balance

@chch518

Your only being charged the tax once, when you bought the voucher at the store.

When your plan is paid from the voucher amount sitting in your available funds account, your Not charged the tax again.

You can review your transaction payment history from in your self service account and see you aren't paying the tax again.
